DESCRIPTION

X-Tech 1

With this Introduction of Experimental Photographic Techniques, we are going to be Printing on Painted Surfaces.
What?
In this limited enrolment workshop, we will look at how to print a Black & White image on a painted surface. Bring a work shirt because we will be painting paper then applying a digital printing emulsion to that painted surface. Next, we will go through image selection and image editing techniques for best results. Then we will go through print setting to start your alternative printing adventure. Finally, we will print an image on your hand painted paper.
In the second part of class, we will critique our new images and discuss the possibilities of future applications. I’m looking forward to trading in my specially lenses and processing techniques for a spongy brush and a hair dryer.

All materials will be included.

We’re excited to partner with Hahnemühle which provides the paper used during this workshop.

X-Tech 1 is the perfect introduction to the world of Experimental Photography. Rethinking and recycling images is just the start of the process. Later workshops will focus on other processes and developing a style all your own.
