We are pleased to announce a return trip to shoot fall colors at both Starved Rock & Matthiessen State Parks! Please join Nick Sinnott and Gerri Whitley as we lead an intrepid group of photographers around these two state parks. We will explore the many canyons and scenic river views draped in fall colors!
If the weather cooperates, you can expect sunrise & sunset shoots, with daytime hikes to find fall color compositions. We will teach camera settings and techniques to best capture those flowing waterfalls and sun-splashed rock walls, all nestled within forests of orange, red, and gold leaves. We plan to offer the most opportunities to capture the essence of the changing seasons. We will start the workshop with a sunrise shoot Saturday morning with the entire group. Following the Sunrise, we will separate into two different groups, one will head to Matthessien and the other to Starved Rock. At Lunch, we will once again meet up with the entire group and after recharging our batteries (figuratively and actually) we will switch instructors and locations and chase the light throughout the canyons. We will finish the day with a sunset shoot as a group again.
We will discuss composition choices with the group, as well as plan to work one-on-one with individuals to help achieve their shootings goals for the day. We don’t want everyone to walk away with identical images. We hope to inspire each participant to find their own vision of what they experience out with us. Anyone with an interest in photography and a passion for the outdoors is going to benefit from this workshop. Please know and expect that this is an outdoor adventure. It will be a physically challenging workshop. We will be hiking several miles a day, up and down through the scenic canyons, and river paths of the “2019 Best Tourist Attraction” as voted in the Best of North Central Illinois Contest. www.BestOfNorthCentralIllinois.com
Whether you are a beginner or seasoned pro, we will help you grow as a photographer.
