Following our successful LaSalle County State Park workshop earlier this summer, we are pleased to announce a return trip to shoot fall colors! Please join Nick Sinnott and Neale Zingle again as we lead an intrepid group of photographers around these two state parks. We will explore the many canyons, and scenic river views in that area over a two day period.
If the weather cooperates, you can expect sunrise & sunset shoots, with daytime hikes to find fall color compositions. We will teach camera settings and techniques to best capture those flowing waterfalls and sun splashed rock walls, all nestled within forests of orange, red, and gold leaves. We plan to offer the most opportunities to capture the essence of the changing seasons in a short weekend. We will start the workshop with a sunrise shoot Saturday morning, followed by a quick hike into the canyons to catch that beautiful early light coming through the canopy of fall leaves. We will break mid-day for lunch, and then continue our chase of light and color throughout the afternoon, finishing the day with a sunset shoot. Early mornings and later afternoons offer some of the best lighting for fall color photography. We have found less traffic / less people during our early morning outings, as well a better chance to capture some wildlife that is most active during that time.
We will discuss composition choices with the group, as well plan to work one-on-one with individuals to help achieve their shootings goals for the day. We don’t want everyone to walk away with identical images. We hope to inspire each participant to find their own vision of what they experience out with us. Anyone with an interest in photography and a passion for the outdoors is going to benefit from this workshop. Please know and expect that this is an outdoor adventure. It will be a physically challenging workshop. We will be hiking several miles a day, up and down through the scenic canyons, and river paths of the “2019 Best Tourist Attraction” as voted in the Best of North Central Illinois Contest. www.BestOfNorthCentralIllinois.com
