Step inside a world of cinematic chills and creative thrills!
In this two-part immersive workshop, you’ll first master the art of crafting eerie, unforgettable characters through learning costuming, makeup (from beauty to SFX), and in-camera tricks to set the perfect haunting mood. Then, take your skills to an epic industrial warehouse shoot: 20,000 sq. ft. of gritty, atmospheric magic, complete with models, moody lighting, and endless spooky storytelling potential. This is where your photography meets the dark side in the best way possible.

Part 1: 4-6pm at the Penthouse Studio

Part 2: 2-4 pm on location at the Industrial Warehouse

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Part 1: October 11th – We’ll meet at the School’s Penthouse Studio to learn everything you need to successfully photograph a spooky, on location shoot.  During this 2-hour session,  you’ll learn about costumes, makeup (standard and special effects), and how to bring spooky characters to life.  In addition, you’ll learn on camera practical effects to add ambience and mood in camera.  We’ll also talk through strategies for lighting, posing, and camera settings to prepare us for the on-location shoot.

Part 2: October 18^th – We’ll be shooting on-location at an Industrial Warehouse.  It’s grungy, grimy, dirty, spooky – everything you dream about for a shoot of this type!  We’ll have run of this 20,000 sq ft, 2 floor, unique space.  Models, dressed and ready to go along with lighting will be set up in the warehouse for the shoot.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Please be aware that at the Warehouse, you will need to walk up a steep flight of stairs to get to the main floor.  The elevator is non-functional at this location.

Due to capacity limitations, only paid participants for the workshop are allowed on site at the Warehouse.

All participants must be 16 years of age or older.

Due to the fees for renting the warehouse, if the workshop does not have enough enrollment 7 days prior to the start date, the workshop will be cancelled, and enrollment fees will be returned.  DO NOT WAIT to enroll!
