Historic Detroit Workshop


Join Nenad Spasojevic, Alanna St. Laurent, and Nick Sinnott for a 3-day architecture intensive workshop in historic Detroit.  From May 1 (Friday) to May 3 (Sunday), we will explore and photograph the highlights of Detroit’s various eras of architecture and design.

Join photographers Nenad SpasojevicAlanna St. Laurent, and Nick Sinnott for a weekend exploring historic Detroit.  From Friday afternoon (May 1st) to Sunday afternoon (May 3rd) we will be photographing not only the contemporary highlights of Detroit but also buildings that were once iconic and popular destinations that have since fallen into ruin.  We will also cross the river into Windsor, Canada to capture some unique skyline shots of Detroit.

Participants must have a valid Passport!

Not Included:

  • Transportation to Detroit
  • Hotel (We will suggest a hotel to registered participants but are not required to stay in that location)

Friday, May 1, 2020
12:00pm: Meet For Lunch (Location will be announced)
1:30pm: Tour at Fox Theatre
3:30pm: Shoot at Guardian Building
4:30pm: Shoot at Fisher Building
6:00pm: Dinner Break
8:00pm: Shoot sunset at Cullen Carousel
9:00pm: Night photography, Metropolitan building or Millender Parking Garage

6:00am: Sunrise of Detroit skyline from Belle Isle
8:00am: Shoot at Fisher Body Plant
11:00am: Lunch Together (Included)
12:30pm: Shoot at Michigan Theatre
3:30pm: Shoot at St Margaret Mary Church
6:00pm: Dinner in Windsor
8:00pm: Sunset/night photos in Windsor of Detroit Skyline/Ambassador Bridge

6:00am: Sunrise at the abandoned warehouse of skyline
8:00am: Shoot at Fisher Building
10:00am: Shoot at St Margaret Mary Church
12:00pm: Lunch Together (Included)
1:30pm: Shoot at McGregor Conference Center
