1st Edition : Chicago Comfort

Shoot & Taste is a new playful food photography workshop series led by food and product photographer Mo BenCheikh.

During Shoot & Taste, participants learn how to capture beautiful food images in a friendly, hands-on environment — and enjoy a tasting at the end. Each edition celebrates a different theme through one special hero dish.

In this edition of Shoot & Taste, you’ll learn how to make a simple donut look stunning on camera using light, color, and composition, all in a relaxed, friendly environment.

You’ll shoot, you’ll taste, and you’ll leave inspired — with a new appreciation for how fun and accessible food photography can be.

This workshop is perfect for food lovers, and anyone curious about food photography but unsure where to start.

Basic knowledge of camera operation is recommended.

Mo Ben Cheikh

I’m Mohsen “Mo” Ben Cheikh, a Chicago-based commercial photographer specializing in product, food, and industrial photography. My career spans Paris, Tunis, and now the U.S., where I’ve collaborated with brands of all sizes to create visuals that resonate. From my early days in Paris to running my own studio, I’ve worked on campaigns ranging from luxury goods and large-scale industrial projects to neighborhood restaurants and national pastry brands. Alongside client work with art directors, designers, and agencies, I’ve led more than 200 training sessions in product photography worldwide. Now in Chicago, I’m excited to share this experience with students exploring product and food photography.
