Advanced Retouching
DESCRIPTION
Join retoucher Lauren McNalis in our Advanced Retouching class to master industry standard beauty retouching, advanced masking, and introductory compositing. We will cover Frequency Separation, Dodge and Burn, Pen tool, Channel masking, Mask refining, and their creative applications. Lauren will give you the tools to elevate your photography and unleash your creativity in Photoshop.
Requirements:
- Completed the Intro To Photoshop Class…OR…Approval from instructor, contact admin@chicagophotoclasses.com
- Comfortable with a Wacom Tablet
- Familiar with the use of masks and layers in Photoshop
The computer lab has 5 iMac and 5 PC’s with Wacom Tablets. You are welcome to bring your own laptop and tablet, but please make sure that Photoshop and Wacom Drivers are updated to the latest version.
Class Length: 5 Weeks
Class Option: In-Person
Lecture Duration: About 3 Hours with Break

Lauren McNalis
Lauren is a retoucher and multidisciplinary artist who began teaching herself Photoshop at the age of 15. She continued her education at Columbia College Chicago where she graduated with her degree in photography. After graduation she joined renowned Photographer Sandro’s team where she became his in-house retoucher. She has contributed to national and global campaigns for major brands such as Absolut Vodka, Nivea, Pledge, and more.
