This is a wonderful class. I took the in-person class and benefited from Nick’s hands on approach, a really good balance of lecture followed by hands on, and really enjoyed seeing what others did. I feel like I was able to get a commanding grasp of all the basics of macro, reinforced through in class and homework assignments, and now it is just a matter of practice. The best part is that I know that if I ever have a question, even months and years down the road, Nick will find a way to make sure that it gets answered. Highly recommend this class.

This was one of my favorite classes! The class had a great flow and each week built on the new skills we learned the week before. We started the class online and moved to in person learning for the last 5 weeks. I felt very comfortable and safe being in the studio. The hands-on learning and in person demonstrations were so helpful. I really loved experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques. I loved learning about water refraction, depth of field, snowflakes and UV light. The entire course was a blast! Nick is a wonderful instructor and goes above and beyond with each student. I highly recommend this class!

What a great class! I’m relatively new to photography so I found this class pretty challenging but very rewarding after figuring it out and getting my shots. It feels great to learn how to make my pictures look the way I want them to be. This class helped me focus on the beauty of small things around us. I took this class online. I was able to learn the techniques presented in each class but there were times I wished I could’ve been there in person. I’m a better hands on learner sometimes I wished I could’ve been in studio to grasp the concepts easier.

I took the in Studio class that began on January 4. It was a total success and I learned much about focus stacking, auto blending in Photoshop, creating a black background, using a circular polarizing filter, and the wonders of ultraviolet (UV) light. Nick is a patient and knowlegable instructor who is generous with his time. For anyone who is interested in macro photography and for whatever reason was not ready to take the plunge, this is the course and instructor for you.
