Saturday, March 23rd
Join Gerri Whitley and Ian Dickmann for a full day of exploring and photographing downtown Milwaukee. We are thrilled to have Ian joining us for this workshop. Ian is an avid photographer who lives and works in Milwaukee. You can see some of his beautiful architecture photography prominently featuring Milwaukee on his Instagram page @boukou9_cityedition.
Milwaukee sits along the shore of Lake Michigan and is bisected by three rivers. The downtown is filled with beautifully preserved historic buildings interspersed with modern architecture all connected by a web of bridges and skywalks. We will start and end at the magnificent Milwaukee Art Museum designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. We will be in place to watch the wings of the museum open.
From there we will walk through the downtown to photograph the wide variety of architecture the city has to offer. We’ll take a midday break at a local food hall to rest and refuel.
Through the day we will work one-on-one with participants to help them achieve their shooting goals for the day. Anyone with an interest in photography and a passion for cities and architecture will benefit from the workshop. Please know and expect that this is an outdoor adventure, expect to be walking regardless of the weather.
