2024 Solar Eclipse

Get ready for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse!  Join Nick Sinnott and Gerri Whitley on Thursday, February 29th (7:00 PM) for a 2 hour talk on how to plan and photograph this rare event. We will talk about planning, gear and how to photograph and enjoy the various phases of the eclipse.

The total solar eclipse passes through North America on April 8th.  While the path of totality doesn’t pass through Chicago, it passes through southern Illinois and other areas less than a days drive from Chicago.  Learn where the path of totality lies, considerations for planning, what protective equipment you’ll need, how to properly expose the phases and get ideas and inspiration for eclipse photos.
