From File to Frame guides you through the complete process of transforming your digital image into a beautifully presented fine art print. You’ll begin by strengthening your printing skills, formerly taught in Art of Printing, and receive hands-on training with CPC’s Epson Professional Printers.

Throughout the course, you’ll explore the characteristics of fine art papers and professional mat boards, learning how these materials influence the mood, depth, and perceived quality of your work. Students will work with premium matte papers and industry-standard precut mats, gaining firsthand experience in pairing materials to artistic intent.

You’ll also compare cost-effective framing options with custom framing solutions, understanding how each impacts presentation and budget. Lessons will include matting techniques, aspect ratios, cropping, resizing, and best practices in Adobe Photoshop to prepare your images for print and display.

Expect a balance of technical instruction, creative decision-making, and practical discussion—right down to pulling out the measuring tape to explore common display sizes that look great in most homes.
